I have so many great ideas!!!

I spent time with a entrepreneur last week who's key challenge was they had too many great ideas and didn't know where to start.

Cool problem to have right?

Rather the dive into the many ideas, we focused on a few simple things;

  • What was the purpose of all of this for them

  • What does success look like

  • How can we build a sustainable yield engine

I got the sense that the key challenge was that they wanted (and maybe needed) to do everything at once. I challenged this thinking by asking them to take this approach.

Make the goal of building your first idea into something where, financially, you don't have to work again. That’s the goal, build and get someone else to run it.

Now I get. I've just told a driven person to stop at 1 idea, but that’s not the point, the point is - if you didn't have to do something, what would you love to do.

This exercise forces you to prioritise and focus on what truly matters. By eliminating the pressure to juggle multiple projects, you can pour all your energy and resources into one idea, giving it the best chance to succeed.

It’s about creating a foundation that allows you to explore other passions without the constant pressure of ‘what’s next?’

Once that first idea is up and running smoothly, generating sustainable income, you have the freedom to revisit those other great ideas. With a stable base, you can explore new ventures with a clear mind and a secure financial backing, making the process much more enjoyable and less stressful.

Ultimately, it’s not about limiting your potential but about strategically managing it.

By focusing on one idea at a time and building it to self-sufficiency, you can create a series of successful ventures, each fuelling the next and enjoy the journey without spreading yourself too thin.
